Cyan launches USB/Ethernet-Solved™ Development Kit
New kit adds USB and Ethernet functionality fast
to existing embedded systems
Cambridge-based fabless semiconductor company Cyan has introduced a development kit that incorporates the USB-Solved™ and Ethernet-Solved™ frameworks into one complete solution. The USB/Ethernet-Solved Development Kit is optimised for use in industrial control, measurement and remote monitoring. This kit has been tailored for applications such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) gateways, gaming machines, vending machines, data logging and hand held equipment requiring data to be logged and hand held scanners and data-capture devices. Other application areas include industrial communications solutions such as, web server links to sensors, serial to USB or Ethernet conversion and Ethernet connection to USB hosted peripherals.
With seamless integration through CyanIDE® 2 (Integrated Development Environment) software, the new development board is easily configured for immediate application using professionally written drag and drop software modules. This minimises the need to fully understand the set up of Ethernet or USB ports, making any development quick and easy.
The USB/Ethernet Development Kit is particularly compatible with systems requiring large quantities of flash memory and high performance analogue to digital or digital to analogue conversion. Some of the board's key features include: 512KB flash, 12-bit DAC, 12-bit 200ksps ADC, USB 2.0 OTG and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, all of which are standard on the eCOG1X14Z5 microcontroller.

Cyan will introduce attractively priced Cy-Solved™ production modules that offer specific hardware interface options and smaller form-factor.
