Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will have a key role within the Cyan Finance Team, helping to maintain a high standard of accounting, produce quality information and assist the team in meeting reporting deadlines.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Completion of month end procedures, management accounts and year end accounts in accordance with statutory and audit requirements
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Oversee the sales and purchase ledger, and credit control functions
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and month end cash analysis
  • Reconciliation of inter-company accounting transactions
  • Control and reconciliation of fixed asset register
  • Control of work-in-progress and undertaking regular reviews with Operations and Sales
  • Stock valuation preparation on a monthly basis
  • Production of financial reports as required
  • Management of the collation of data for the R&D tax credit claim
  • To act as first point of contact for the audit company
  • Management of the outsourced payroll provider
  • Support for corporate finance activities

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Good numerical and technical analysis skills are essential
  • Detail conscious
  • Foreign currency accounting experience
  • Familiarity with IFRS
  • Experience of dealing with inter-company transactions and stock
  • Demonstrated a high level of technical competence carried out within industry
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Sage experience is highly desirable
  • Experience of working in a PLC an advantage
  • Experience of accounting for remote locations an advantage

Qualifications:


Ideally the candidate will be ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), but applications will be considered from candidates who can demonstrate the required level of technical expertise.
