Embedded Systems Engineer
Hardware/software engineer with significant experience in embedded systems and an understanding of low level microprocessor hardware and interfaces.
- Develop application notes covering hardware and software design with Cyan products, for publication on the web site.
- Develop hardware and software reference designs for publication on the web site. These provide detailed design information for customers in particular application areas with high levels of potential sales.
- Work with the Software Development Group to test and refine the CyanIDE development software, for existing and future devices. Define and agree the requirements for new software features.
- Work with the ASIC Development Group to define and agree the requirements specifications for new devices and to test new devices when available.
- Provide second tier of technical support over and above that provided by the sales engineers and field applications engineers, offering more in-depth support where appropriate.
- Develop targeted applications for key customers.
- Develop applications software support for Cyan products in particular areas such as Ethernet TCP/IP stack, operating systems including RTOS, etc., peripheral hardware device drivers, wireless networking
Must have:
- Significant experience in microprocessor-based embedded systems, processor architectures, peripherals, programmable logic, real-time software, hardware/software integration, low-level device drivers, interfacing to external devices, programming in C and assembly language.
- Interfacing to digital and analogue devices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Printed circuit board design (schematic capture and pcb layout).
- Knowledge of device communications protocols.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and other communications protocols.
- Knowledge of embedded real-time and other operating systems.
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
